Guitar Tex was opened in 1999 by Mark Waldrop with the idea of providing a unique setting for people to experience what fine acoustic instruments are all about. 

Mark Waldrop attended Bryan Galloup's repair school in 1995, and has been a member of the Guild of American Luthiers since 1996. Mark handles all aspects of repair and warranty work.

We are extremely proud of the products we carry, and we gladly service what we sell. We offer free estimates for repairs, and will provide written appraisals for $35.

We're also to pleased to note that after less than 2 years as a dealer for C.F. Martin we are selling as much as or more than some of the big stores in the area & that means a lot of happy customers.

Martin now offers custom built guitars built just for you & to your specifications at surprisingly affordable prices. So if you've ever wanted say a D-18 but with a wider nut & an abalone rosette & ebony fingerboard, it can be done in a timely manner & for less than you might think. Let us help you with your choice.

The acoustic market is hugely diverse, covering many tastes and styles, but the standards for the a fine instrument are the same regardless of what style of music you play. We offer a great selection at great prices.

We are glad to take custom orders, and we can offer substantial discounts. With most makers, we can get an instrument built for you in 2 to 6 months.

At Guitar Tex our aim is to match up each player with the right instrument for his or her style, budget, and taste.  We take the time to find out what fits each player, and if don't have it, we will do what we can do to find it or refer you to the proper source.

Much of our clientele we know on a first name basis, and we strive to build lasting relationships that go beyond buyer and seller.
